Default VB&P customer service?

Is it strange that an order takes 2 weeks to bigin shipping from this company?
Assuming 3-5 days of transit time that puts total time out at almost 3 weeks...
I find a much different attitude from the other end of the phone when I call to discuss a potential purchase compared to obtaining shipping info on an existing purchase...
Anybody else have a similar experience or am I just being unrealistic and over enthusiastic to start fixing her up?

That depends, did they have the parts in stock?

It's possible a manufacturer could be out of stock on something.

True.
The person on the other line was giving me one-word answers and being kind of "short"...
I wasn't in the mood to argue so I just got off the line.
Just looking for opinions on personal experiences with this company...

My recent order has taken about that long.....they were out of stock on a couple of the items I ordered though. When you call, speak with Cathryn...she seems to be able to find information the quickest.

A few months back I purchased the Performance Plus Suspension package, it took over a month to get the complete package, I was never told at the time of the order that they were waiting for a part for the front suspension for weeks prior to my ordering the kit. They did send me the parts that they had which gave me the chance to put them on, but I was a little upset that thay did not inform me at the time when I was dishing over $2,300.00 that they were have a problem with getting the complete kit together.
A month later when I called them , I was calling them just about everyday to get an update of part . It seems that a few of the parts they do not manufacture and really have no control over when it's produced. I was told that a former employee worked at the company that was producing this part for them. I figured he did not leave on a friendly basis.
When I was told my part would be shipped I asked how long to get to me they said in about 4 days , that's when I demanded overnight shipping to me , and they did .
It's really a great company and I love their products, but like any business, if a part is made somewhere else, you lose control of that part. Whenever I talked to anybody on the phone they were always polite and really sorry for the problem, and I could understand their problem. Only problem I had was not being informed of their problem. I would still have ordered the part , I just wouldn't be waiting for it everyday like I was, I would have known at the time that I would have to wait .
