I have a 1971 convertible and I noticed that it has what I understand is a LT1 tachometer. Are there other things to look for that are less noticeable I can check out? I'm not sure if one of the hoods I have is the car original hood and I know the motor is not the original but what else might be looked for to tell if it was ever a LT1? Here's the tach picture, can you see the 6500 red line.

That would help explain your copper radiator and lack of an expansion tank.
Base engine 350 w/4sp had an alum radiator w/expansion tank.
LT-1 came with copper (automatic style) radiator an no external expansion tank on the fender.
Do the Google thing. There's been enough written about LT-1s to put together exactly what the options package required. Once you know that, you can start looking for the tell-tale parts.
