Default Removing Half Shafts from Trailing Arms

Process of a restomod. Bought a new rolling chassis to replace my terribly rotted frame. There are a few things I need off my old chassis, one being the half shafts. Got all the nuts off the differential side and went to move onto the trailing arm side. ??? ..the angle and tightness of the bolt head makes it not possible to get a socket and ratchet or breaker bar on?

...JUST thinking about it, I only tried from the top side (no body on the frame). Is the trick maybe to get to the bolts from the bottom?

Wish I would have come to that revelation prior to the sun going down and one of the last decent temperature days in Ohio.

Bring the bolt you are working on towards the bottom rear and work it from underneath. I did it with an impact, very tight fit. 2 bolts were stuck and heads rounded off. I had to cut the head off and drill through one of them:

I sprayed mine with Kroll (?) and let it set over night - a good socket, ratchet, and piece of pipe - took them off from the bottom. I had to leave the wheel/tire on and scotch it to keep it from rotating.

I don't know how crusty the bolts are, but don't neglect to bend back the ears of the french-locks keeping the bolts in-place. You'll go crazy trying to get a proper-size wrench on the bolt head if they're still there.
