Tell the truth..........I made some changes to the exhaust, heads, and manifold. And noticed it likes 700 more rpm now. Very cool. How bout your shift point?..............
Normal driving, ~2,500. To get ahead in traffic, maybe up to 4K to 5K. Per my engine builder, my redline is 6K. My engine has plenty of torque, so it doesn't need to be twisted up to redline. But we're all different and drive differently.
Shift point for what kind of driving? If you mean under racing conditions, I shift around 6300-6500 RPMs. There are so many variables in parts and purposes from motor to motor that you'll get widely different answers...assuming that's really what you're asking about.
I'll be more pacific........pun intended. When I mash that little peddle on the right, mine makes good power right up to....................before it starts to drop off. Not the peddle ............
Haha, me too. I shift at my self imposed red line of 4,000 when I'm trying to get somewhere before my coffee gets cold, in normal traffic it's between 2,000 and 2,500. The red line in my 70 is actually 6,000...but it's an original engine so I feel like the world might end if I actually go there.
Since you asked at what RPM do I shift at, I assume at full throttle racing and not at cruising (when it shifts itself). I shift at 7000 rpm, which is 500 rpm past horsepower peak, which for my engine is 6500 rpm. This gives me my fastest E.T.
