Go to the "cobrastuff" web site. They offer chrome, bare metal and painted sidepipe covers that look excellent. I purchased the bare metal kit and painted the covers to match the car. Looks great and I receive many compliments on the look. Just search "cobrastuff".

These guys offer chrome and powder coating. They even let you choose any length at no extra cost. I know it's cheaper then cobra stuff.

I thought you were talking '69 factory side exhaust covers for $309 - too good to be true - and of course it was too good to be true. Sorry, but those things look terrible.

No commission. Why is it that when you try to help people you get these kind of posts? I just thought it would be nice not to spend an arm and a leg to not get burned!

If I liked them and was in the market, I'd buy 'em. I don't care if his whole family's getting commission. He's just trying to pass along what he, and others, might consider a good deal.

FWIW, however welcome such info may (or may not) be, unsolicited threads/posts about product do tend to come off somewhat as an advert, where the same info shared in reply to a query wouldn't seem to do.

That said, thanks for the link, but I personally would prefer Dean's shields.

Wait a minute, you are selling these on ebay right now and not only is your add miss leading in the wording you use my car with steel shields in your add without my permission you also have a picture of a black 71 C3 with steel shields and show them as yours.

I don't care if you copy my steel shields design but to lie about my pricing and use cars with steel shields on them and pass them off as your shields is not right.

It's always nice to have a lower price alternative if one can't afford a quality component but still wants the protection offered by the heat shield. So I say thanks for the info.
However if Deans' shields are being mis-represented in an ad and then what is sold is not the shield that was represented it shows a lack of honesty and integrity and I would not do business with that company.
Dean's sheilds are TOP quality. They are quality stainless steel. A magnet will not stick to these shields or even begin to stick. Try that test with your stainless steel sink, I bet it does not pass the test. Deans shields will last basically forever as far as the elements are concerned and show up polished so well that it is virtually indistinguishable from the chrome coated side pipes in shine quality. Chrome plated or paint will eventually chip and then the underlying metal will rust.
I don't advocate many products, but this is one I would say spend the extra if you intend on keeping the car or the side pipes for any length of time. And Dean, thank you for a quality product!

I understand that Deans are the beat around but all I was doing was putting my two cents in on a web site I found and all I'm getting is a lot of negative posts. If this company is selling with false advertising then Dean should file suit against than company and stop accusing me of being the owner. I haven't got a pot to **** in much less own a company.

I put steel shields on my 78 about a year ago. I have never regretted spending a few more bucks for them. Quality product and I get a lot of comments about them. Love the laser cutout of "Corvette" on them. Even though I am 71 .... I plan on keeping them for a long time. "It's never too late to have a happy childhood".

I am truly sorry about my reply that accused you of being the owner of the shield maker. I as others believed that to be true. My rant was due to them not only copying my design but saying my plain & simple design is so much higher in price than there chrome mild steel copies, then they use my car (without my permission) and a chrome bumper C3 with my shields and try to pass them off as their shields.

Of cause you did not know this and I feel bad that you were only trying to help in your original post.
Sorry again
