Kick panel vent door closed? My hunch is hood weatherstrip and/or AC flapper door tucked under the passenger's side fender.
Bad hood weatherstrip can let hot air into the wiper trough. Flapper door stuck open lets hot air reach the kick panel vent.

That's where I'd start looking- That flapper door is probably stuck open.

It can only be the rear hood seal or the bonding seams cracked open in the plenum panels below the blower.
The wiper trough flapper allows ambient air, not hot air, into the plenum for the blower and/or kick panel vent. It is supposed to be open for cool vent air or fresh air a/c.
