Got my CE back from the paint shop today it's been a year since I began stripping it. I have the AIM but it's not real clear on weather stripping installation. Is there a site that could give me some help. It's hard to remember the proper position after so long.
Hi Charles... POST PHOTOS OF THE PAINT!!!! If you have the weatherstrip, take a close look at it held up to where it goes... the hole patterns, and a bit of memory searching will enable you to decipher how it is supposed to fit. It really only makes sense one way... so take an hour, lay it out and make a plan of attack... use only 3M brand Black Weatherstrip Adhesive and some masking tape to hold while the glue dries. Work in short sections and tape profusely. Follow the label directions on the glue to the letter and it will look and perform like factory. Have fun and be detail oriented like you always are.!
i just did the weatherstrip on my 72 and the advice I got here was basically this:
dry fit each piece then get blue painters tape and tear strips and have them ready to apply. Using the 3M weatherstrip adhesive apply it to the car and then also the weatherstrip and let it sit for a min or two so as to tack up a bit. Apply the weatherstrip and use the tape to hold in place along with the fasteners that go with each piece. Let it sit a day then remove the tape. Doors pieces are the most difficult and will take some stretching. Then of course your doors will take some break in time to shut properly. You may also have to adjust the window glass with the new weatherstrip.

I'll post pics when we get a clear day. The paint shop did a great job, it has almost too much gloss. I don't need mirror to shave any longer. Good to hear from you.
