There's a slight difference in the rear flange where they mount to the floor, but repair pieces are available for both.

How about the seat frames themselves? my 73 originally came with the seats that had the seatbelt go through the seat. The 76 seats I am considering do not. Is there a difference other than the holes in the cover and trim plate?

The tracks mount to the seats the same for 73 -78, you could use the 73 tracks for the 75 or 76 seats. If I remember correctly when I recovered my 75 seats, there were pass throughs in the seat back frame, just not the trim. 76 sets didn't have the trim, not sure about the pass through part on the frame
