Default Corvette 1978 Assembly Instruction Manual

Hi

A question for those of you who have a 1978 Assembly Instruction Manual.

I’ve been checking my copy of the AIM in relation to the inner door panels on my 1978. I have had the manual for years and it came from a reputable supplier, but I have only now noticed that there appear to be a few pages missing in the section dealing with the doors. The (I'm guessing later added) page numbering goes from 254 to 257. The section is F01-12, and is complete up to sheet 16. But I suspect that there should be a 16.5 and possibly 17. (I think they would give detail about the fixing of the inner door panel to the door, and/or possibly some of the fittings like lock switches, mirror escutcheons etc.) The pages then jump to section J01-12, sheet 1.5, (seats) so I’m guessing there should be a sheet 1.

Could anyone check their copy and see if they have the pages I seem to be missing. And, if so, could they scan them for me??

Thanks.

I have sheet 16 and 17 in my just bought aim for 1978. No 16.5. Pg 252=sheet 16, pg 253 =sheet 17. Sheet 17 deals with the side mirrors. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else.

In my 78 AIM, Sheet 16 covers trim panel and arm rest (page 252);
Sheet 17 is chrome mirror install (page 253);
Sheets 18 and 19 are sport mirror installs, left and right (pgs. 254 and 255).

J01 begins on page 256.

Mike - Yes, they are the ones I need then! Any chance you have a scanner?

Hi Mike

Thanks a lot - But... "Mr Wilcox" posted the pages in his reply a few up, and I was able to download them from that while they were still there.

Thanks again, but you can "stand down" now - sorry!

Stand down or fall down? I've been known to do both with somewhat surprising ease.

Ordered my copy in PDF and am very disappointed. Some pages are not completely readable. And, unless I'm missing something, I can't find anything on the heater control vacuum hoses. Anyone else experience this? Or did I just get a bad disk? I wish I had ordered in paper.
Thanks,Mike

What say you, Mr Willcox. I will gladly return my purchase, at my expense, for a printed version.

Mike.. The pages you see are better resolution than the printed copy I'm afraid. We tried to use the best manuals that were available but unfortunately some of the pages are not very clear.

You should be able to use the Advance search function in Adobe to search the manual. There are key words embedded in each page but you should search by a simple on word search and let Adobe build you a list.
