Default Got Bumbed Out Today

I attacked the 68 again today and completed the body mount bolt removal process also removed the safety cable for the seat belts, removed the radiator support and misc. other items. The body is ready for removal. I was feeling so good I made the mistake of getting a closer look at things under the car. I don't know how many times over the past 3 years I've looked under there, but today I must have had my glasses on and batteries in by flashlight. I was planning on rebuilding my trailing arms like most do BUT after really looking, they are too rusted for my liking and need to be replaced. So after research, I can buy arms only and still have them rebuild using my originals as donors or just buy re-manufactured ones. They come out about the same in cost. But it's a grand I was not really counting on spending. Such is the hobby I guess.

And if you are doing a body off this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Good Luck with the adventure.

Default The disco era ?

I personally think of the C3 as the absolute close to the high point in a beautiful Corvette. but just all the car manufactures of the sixties and seventies, GM used the worse steel in building all of there cars. All of them have surface to complete rust through. When I first went to look at my 79 I took a craftsmen long screwdriver and the first spot I went after was the rear kick up. If I couldn't punch a hole there i moved on. GM and all the car companies used crappy steel and then did NO RUST PREVENTIVE COATING !

I must agree with this sentiment.
