68' trim tag question?
does someone have a pic of their 1968 trim tag in place? i just noticed tonight that my 68' trim tag is mounted differently than the trim tag on my 70' coupe. (hopefully they are both correct) thanks, Rick

Hello Razman,
I have one, but can't figure how to cut and paste a picture and put it here.

I'm not sure the physical location changed too very much during the C3 run. All of them are about like this one. Not sure exactly which model year this one is:
Post pics of your two.

The position varied slightly from car to car, never mind year to year.

if that trim tag is from a C3 which is what it looks like then it is either a 71 or 72 code 988 steel cities gray metallic paint code.

Or maroon or burgundy if '68 or '69.

No problem my friend. I like how the camera flash makes my paint look almost yellow in places let alone orange.

Here's one.
Not the greatest photo, but you can see that it is "pinching" the upper curved area.
See anything curious about this tag?

It should not be painted and should have rosette rivets.

Painted is wrong.
I think these are the correct rivets?
See anything else?

I see the tobacco but can't say that would be "curious".

900 paint code (and look below tag for scrape), and Tobacco leather.
Should have been a rather low production combo in '68.

Although the rivets in the pic look like replacements, the originals were not rosettes.

Please elaborate as to why these rivets look to be replacements.

Probably. Does that meet the definition of "curious"? Haven't you posted pics of this car with the tobacco?
