Default Fuel Rail Fitment Issue

Hey guys, looking for suggestions on how to address the fitment issue I am having with the fuel rail I recently purchased and attempted to install. Problem is a couple of things: Fuel line blocks coolant hole in intake and Pressure gauge hits bottom of air cleaner base.

I kinda like this fuel rail and filter and am determined to somehow make it work. I had a couple of thoughts:

1. Bend the fuel inlet lines that screw into the carb downwards. By doing this, it possibly might help clear the coolant hole and also possibly move the pressure gauge away from the air cleaner base. (I currently cannot get the base to sit flat because of this) The only problem I see though is that there is only maybe 1/2" clearance between the intake and the bottom of the fuel rail. So bending the lines may not work out. I really don't want to bend them only to find out this idea will not work...

2. Somehow extend the length of the inlet lines that go into the carb about an inch or so, which would move the fuel rail closer to the valve cover and also move the pressure gauge down and away from the air cleaner.

If I were to somehow extend the lines an inch or so, are there any kind of adaptors I can use? I believe the fuel line fitting threads are 5/8" - 18. I looked at local parts stores and hardware store, but could not find any type of adaptors like this. Maybe there is another type of fitting I can buy that would extend the fuel rail? maybe I should consider another type of fuel rail?

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

i just installed a similar set up yesterday and we ran into the same problem. we used a short 90 degree heater hose inlet thing from lowes for 4 bucks, threaded it in and it points out the front of the intake and the fuel line clears. i do not have a pressure gauge but i had that type of problem on my ta and we dimpled the bottom of the air cleaner with a hammer until it sat right. i dont think i would fool with the fuel rail much.

here is a pic, not a close up but you can tell

Thanks for the photo and sugestion. I looked on Summit's website and found some adaptors that would screw into the carb that have a -6 AN style fitting on the other end. I am thinking I could go this route, cut the ends off the fuel rail and re-flare the lines to accept AN fittings and then use the AN style coupler to connect the lines back to the carb. I think by doing this, I might gain about an inch in length which would move the fuel line/gauge closer to the valve cover. By doing this, I might solve both the gauge issue and the coolant hole fitment issues. I am going to keep looking for other fittings and other solutions before I order anything. Hopefully others will chime in here in the meantime with other ideas/suggestions...

Default Can't you just point it aft.....

..and flip the gauge to the other side? It looks like you can install the gauge on either side (can't see very well in the picture).

Then run your fuel line to the back.

BUT I really think the short 90° fitting is a better idea.....
