Default uknown wires

hi everyone, i have been working on my replaceing the carpet on my 81, when i removed the drivers side front, i found two unknown pretty heavy wires just hiding under where your feet rest up by the gas pedal. anyone have any ideas what they were for? i have had a slow battery draw and i have not been able to find it, maybe this is the culprit. they seem to run out the firewall behind the fuse block, but i have not been able to trace them from the inside the engine compartment. any ideas? maybe the original alarm? 1 wire seems to have a round quick connect, but the other has no end and i dont see anything that they connected to in the consol.

A pic would help. What color are the wires?

Possibly for an option not installed on your car.

they look factory, and both have a black outer coating, they must have been used for something since someone put a round connect on one and the other has bare wires. they have been under the old carpet for some time, they were both glued to the floor. i can take a pic, but i never have anyluck posting a pic on here, i could email it to you, that might be easier

oh and i fixed everything electronic last year, everything works except the pulse wipers and cruise control, and of course the factory alarm, all i need for the cruise is the servo, so i dont think they were from that, and the pulse wipers i think is my switch or relay. so i have no clue what they are for

I'm guessing that they were for some aftermarket install, such as an amp, radio or CB?

GM didn't usually wrap individual wires. When they wrapped multiple wires, to create a harness, they used the black harness tape that doesn't have adhesive backing. Those wires look to be wrapped with regular electrical tape.

I can't ever remember seeing a terminal like that one, used anywhere on a Corvette, either.
