Default Convertible deck lid lock

I'm just getting started on a frame off resto of a '69 convertible. The car was in pieces scattered all over my brother's garage. What does the lock cylinder on the tail of the car do? It has no linkage connected to it, just the bare cylinder.

Lock cylinder hanging on a bracket below the license plate???

That is there to lock your spare tire in place.

Lock cylinder in the fiberglass is for the factory-optional alarm system.

Optional factory alarm. The owner's manual probably shows how it works and which key to use.

Outlaw: Order the 69 assembly instruction manual (AIM); it'll help getting your car back together.
