Default Tie Rod Ends

Does anyone know if the c3 tie rod ends have any sort of nylon or plastic fittings in them? Or are they just steel ball & joint?

I'm about to powder coat all my steering components and figured I might as well include the ends. Obviously pull the boot, and clean out the grease, but making sure there is nothing else that can't handle the 400 degrees.

Some tie rods ends have plastic liners in them (PTFE?) while others list all metal construction. (Moog lists as all metal)
400 deg should be safe for any metals, (a little high for something shot-peened)

Hmm... I bought the rolling chassis mostly complete. I'm taking it all back apart to double check, paint, etc. It seems he purchased a lot of his parts from Mid America. Any idea who they use?

Couldn't tell you. Most advertise "made in the USA" but that could still be any number of manufacturers.
I've had TRW on other (newer) cars and I know they had a liner in them. That's not to say that the ones they have for older cars would also have them (you would think they would all be the same)

There should be a metal disk on top of the joint (under the boot) that will cover/hide a sleeve so it's hard to say for sure.

Paint's always an option
