^ nice car, I'd jump on it if it was 4 speed, and black, silver, or white. I'm in southern CA too.

The reserve is indeed 32k. I asked if the numbers were restamped. He said it was matching numbers, lol.

I think I'll pass, not really because I don't trust him, but because of the price.

How reliable and trustworthy are independent inspectors if I can't see a car in person?

thanks

I Thought it was a pretty nice car too. As Alan pointed out, it has rubber fuel lines, and although not correct, it is that way because of the replacement edelbrock carb. which does not have an internal fuel filter in the carb so must use an external inline filter between the fuel pump and carb. I'll bet it also has an edelbrock fuel pump which supplies the needed maximum fuel press of 6 psi. For that carb. It's not really butchered. Just not ncrs correct.
Other issues mentioned are sort of moot, for instance if the wheel trim rings are o.e.m. not reproductions could be expected to have some road rash, it's 44 yrs old. Original radio? I don't think not having the correct radio should ding the price any.
All in all it looks like a real nice car one could buy and drive. You absolutely cannot restore 1 to that level without spending a minimum of $20 k in today's dollars. That is not including any labor.
What's it worth? I have no idea but if it were mine I wouldn't let it go for less than mid $20's.

what do you think about the numbers? Do they look restamped to you? I can't tell since I'm new to this.

Salesman talk for specifically NOT answering your question.

Not particularly, but the pics are not the best. The pad appears to have been scuffed up by something, but Bubba could have done that.
