I'm looking for my old 1972 Corvette. It's a coupe, Steel Cities Gray, base engine with black vinyl seats. It's VIN# 1Z37K2S515799. I looked on the "Registry" but it's not there. Any help would be great!!!
Have you tried the Arkansas DMV? They may be limited in what they can tell concerning owner personal information, but you might get some clues.
I traded the car for a 1976 Vette in Enterprise, Alabama in 1977. It was at a small used car lot which I am pretty sure is out of business by now. Being so close to a military base it could be anywhere now. But, I'll give it try!!! Thanks.
I've been to Mountain Home. Have friends in Enterprise.
Nix the Arkansas DMV. Try Alabama.
Small world, Mountain Home is not the kind of place that you just happen to past through because of the highways, you have to want to go there. Love it here though!!! I also have an old Army friend that lives in Enterprise. I'll give the Alabama DMV a call on Monday. Thanks.
I hope you fine your 72' Apocolips it'll be well worth the effort. I have my 70' back after a thirty four year absence, there's just no better feeling especially when the car is great condition. Good luck with your search.

Thanks VetteReturned, I'm actually looking for my 1969 Camaro as well. I traded the Camaro in on the 72 Corvette. My two most favorite cars in my life, and there have been a lot of cars.
Hey Apocolips I'm from Arkansas also Active duty NG (AGR) here in Arlington VA living here. My 1975 came from Texarkana. I bought it 1992 still have it too, been working on it all this time just few more little things to do. According to NCM my car was delivered to Riverside IL near Chicago. Don't know how it ended up in Arkansas.
Noob alert: I was wondering which Registry y'all are talking about, and if/whether the NCM costs a fee?
... And, not to hijack, but a guy in Nashville (don't know him) is looking for his old green 1969 and that led me to this thread. http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/3625606309.html If he isn't a member I'm happy to invite him to try his luck on a new thread here in C3 general. I searched but can't find record a of a "Jim" looking for his car. ... Sounds like he should try the TN DMV, since he knows delivery info.
I sincerely wish you the best in finding your 72. It's been a long time and personally, I'd give it six months and you might start looking for a new friend. I will add this caveat, I'm not telling you to buy the first 72' you find, but do this instead. Look for the car, that's looking for you.
That's how I found my 74'. I literally looked at thousands of Craigslist ads and when I saw that car, we already knew each other. I knew instantly, at that very second, that car was mine. I knew it's personality, I knew how it'd drive and also, what it would do for me and the car delivered in spades. Barely running, spitting and cussing, we got it purring within a week after sitting for nearly a decade and gawd, was it happy to get out!
You'll know 'The Corvette' when you see it. It will strike a chord in you deeply. I was happy to rescue mine and it's returning the favor. I wish you the best of luck in your search, but when you're done, there's a 'Vette out there, that's waiting for you.
