With the 74 454 conv restoration wrapped up, I have a 454 coupe to restore. The customer has owned it since it was nearly new. It was his car while attending the University of Louisville. The goal is to receive a Bloomington Gold Certificate when completed.
The front end needed replaced so I removed it. Took about an hour. I've already purchased an NOS upper surround panel. Need to get the rest of the pieces rounded up ASAP. Hope to have it painted by the end of March.
Here goes!

No biggie. They're all ugly when they hit my shop, it seems. I'll strip the paint this weekend and get this down to the bare bones then build it back up.
Once the new front end is installed, I'll put it on the rotisserie and clean the bottom side like it was when it was new. From there, it will be ready for paint prep while the chassis and driveline are rebuilt.
Wondering why the front end needed replacing? Was it hit?
Could you show some pics of where the 'glass gets bonded to the cowl and along the doors?..TIA
The front end was replaced earlier in it's life after an incident with a guardrail. It needed replaced again. the bonding areas are a mess right now. I'll post a pic of them after I clean them up.
Yes, I've done around 20 frame off restorations so far, so this isn't a big deal. 53's are my main area of concentration though. I've done several so far. I like them the best.
We'll achieve Bloomington Gold and Top Flight when it's done.

Hey can you tell me the name brand of those wheels are ? I am looking for exactly the same wheel. I like the spread of the spokes. I think there are 8 of them.
Thanks.
