Default 68 BB Radiator Question

I have a 68 4-SP 427/435 coupe, no AC. What exactly should I buy for a radiator for it? I see things called "Direct-Fit". Are they close to the original in design, just no part number stamp, etc? Also, I see "Harrison" and "reproduction". Are the two terms the same, or was Harrison a version reserved for some BB's like the L-88? Thanks!

Your's is a Harrison. Check to see if the metal tag is still on your original radiator. It will have a two digit code and a part# on it. BTW DeWitt's are near perfect replacements.

Harrison made the original copper/brass radiator for your car, with the little tag on top of the core. Dewitts makes a "Direct Fit" out of aluminum and will paint it black for you. Only an expert can tell the difference. The aluminum will dissipate the heat from that bad boy motor of yours much better than any reproduction copper/brass radiator. Best $500 that I spent on my intended driver.

Default In my opinion

A good radiator shop can recore yours and you know it will fit, ....The OE radiator is a copper one not aluminum, and not much of a job to add your old tanks to a new correct size core.......

I just had mine repaired by the above method as it was accidentally damaged

If you intend on driving the car and enjoying it as the others have said buy a Dewitt. Save the original radiator so if you want to put the car back to original after it's recored you or the next owner can.
Best of both worlds and of course the most costly.
