air cleaner base
Just put a q/jet on 69 350 it has electric choke on it origanal drop base air cleaner wont fit does anyone have base for a an elecltric choke that will clear my hood or any suggestions for air cleaner

I have an edelbrock drop base on my 74,I know I have a bit taller hood than a 69 but I also have a slightly taller than stock intake,sorry I cant provide a part number as the previous owner bought it,if you check an edelbrock catalogue there maybe something you could use there

Are you starting with the original Q-jet air cleaner base, or an aftermarket drop base?

I bought a dropped base last year off of e-bay for my q-jet with electric choke. If you look at "14" air cleaner dropped bases" on e-bay, the base needs to be rounded like the Proform to fit the q-jet with electric choke.

I have dimpled the aftermarket style drop base air cleamer with a 2 X 4 backer and a ball peen hammer to clear the choke housing.
You might accomplish the same, even if it means a little work on the filter element as well.
