Take a cap and go to a plumbing/heating supply place (not a home depot but something a little more specific)
They have tonnes of o-rings for various valves, sprinkler systems etc. Should be able to match it up for you

Some of the caps had an o-ring that made them more of a press-fit into the rim and helped keep them tight and not rattle. I've made a few replacement centers and I've put the o-rings in some since the rims are frequently slightly out of round or different sizes and I like to make my parts round and one size (so I'm lazy)
At least I thought that's what he was after, maybe not.
