Default Need help confirming interior color...

Hello All, I just dropped her off at the body shop for a new coat!!

I am now surfing the web for some new interior parts. I want to replace the carpet set and seat covers. I believe this is the dark blue color. Can someone confirm?

Also, has a anyone replaced the seat covers with some aftermarket vinyl ones?

Here are some exterior shots....

Check the color codes on the door post tag. It will give you the original paint and interior color codes

Color code is on the trim tag. Your interior looks black\charcoal to me, not dark blue.

Original upholstery had leather seating surfaces with vinyl skirts.

I can't seem to find any codes on the door when I took a look at the car at the body shop. I saw the labels for tire pressure and such. Is it on the drivers door?

It's 6:00 am, I pulled the cover off my 74 to see exactly where my trim tag is located.
Mine is on located on the front door jamb, just above the top door hinge. Not on the door, but on the windshield post. It is a metal tag held in place with rivets.
Hope it helps

The plate is rivited to the cowl near the top hinge of the drivers door.

Your paint code should be 24L 26U for silver blue/blue.
Interior codes are 222 for dark blue leather, 182 for charcoal.

Your interior looks to be 82 Charcoal Gray leather.

On original seats, the only portion of the seat that is actually leather, is the pleated area between the bolsters. The rest of the seat, the bolsters, and seat backs, were made of vinyl. The vinyl covers that Corvette America make, just replace the leather seating portion, with the same vinyl, that's used on the rest of the seat.

Thanks a lot guys!! I am going to pass by the shop tomorrow to get those codes. Will the paint shop be able to get the exact colors just with those codes?

Yes and No. The codes are for the original acrylic enamel paint, now nearly forty years old. They should be able to use the codes to determine the correct colors in the new formula paint now available.

18I is Charcoal Gray leather.

13L 13U 39M is silver over charcoal gray metallic two-tone.

C is the code for the 1982 model year.
06C is June (06), third week (C)

Remaining numbers in the top line is a VIN derivitive.

Awesome, thanks guys!! I was searching for 181 and not 18I. I have decided to change the color of the car since it is completely stripped, doors off, no weatherstripping. I am thinking some type of corvette red. Any suggestions?

If you do a search, your interior would likely come up as 182, which was the order code for Charcoal leather. This is how it appears in most lists and guides.

When a car was ordered, the interior color and material (leather or cloth), was specified on the order form by a 3 digit code. The first 2 digits, indicated the color, and the third one determined the material. All leather order codes, ended in a "2", while cloth interior codes ended in "C". Strangely, when the interior code was marked on the trim tag, the third digit used was an "I", with either cloth or leather seating. This information only pertains to Bowling Green cars. The coding on St. Louis trim tags, was different.

I like Torch Red.
