My power windows in my 73 work fine, when the doors are open. I have all new weatherstrips and when the doors are closed, the windows go very slow, up and down, think it is some kind of tightness or maybe friction between the w/s and window. My question is, are there any types of conditioner or lubricant for the w/s to reduce the friction between the two. Perhaps something that doesn't eat the w/s or leave a big smear on the glass. Has anyone else had this problem ?
I apply it fairly heavily a couple of days to a week before I install new weatherstrips to allow it to absorb in a bit, and then wipe down the weatherstrips good when I install them. You want to make sure you keep this off your paint. So, since they are already installed, you might want to do multiple very light coats.
If that doesn't solve your issue, I think you might need to readjust your windows.
