Default 68 park brake console

I got a quick question about the little filler piece that is right under the parking brake handle on the console. what actually holds that little piece in place? Yes i do have the aim and it shows where it goes, but i just cant see what actually holds it onto the console itself.. anyone got a pic of it installed? I have searched most of the day for a pic an no luck
btw it was already disassembled when i got the car

It should have a clip on the back of it. It slides down and clips on the shifter console.

It clips to the forward console, not the parking brake console. My 68 came with the interior out and in pieces, took me a while to figure that one out too...

The assembly instruction manual shows it and how it clips in.
