Is it possible to install cowl braces, mine does not have them, I believe I have a set lined up w/ sadle bracket or is it going to be a pita? Taking out the dash panels is not an issue.

My concern would be the connecting points. If the saddle bracket that you're referring to is the cast iron chunk, you'll have the attaching points for one end of each of the three braces on the driver's side. I'm guessing that the chassis brackets for the other ends would have to be obtained and welded into place. Same for both ends of the passenger-side brace. See the following for a partial pic.

I am not familiar with the 1968 but here is the saddle on my 1974.
Great pic, better than the AIMS manual, do you have AC? I think there may be a different brace for AC cars? I would really like to get them installed on my car, we have great roads in Nashville, but the ocasional pot holes kill me, I feel like I'm in my wooden go cart when I was a kid.
Hello Mike, fellow nashville guy here, looks like that trans tunnel/saddle mount is riveted,got to put some thought into that one.if you need to look at the dash and tunnel area my dash is presently out,working on it.i do not have ac,but at least you can get an idea of how you want to tackle it. pm me for contact.
