Its not the rating. Lots of people open ebay accounts just to sell a car for the first time.

There's something up with this. 435 horse, Bloomington Gold, Top Flight, Triple Crown? Numbers match with real code 900 paint and sides? Besides, what does "asking $22k" mean? Its an auction. They could have done a Buy It Now for that. Scam.

Sounds like a scam, I asked to see the car. We'll see what happens. /:\

He's asking you to contact him before bidding. He's probably building a database/email list to sell to someone which contains people with interest and disposable incomes.

I sent an email to the seller. That car is beautiful. Never judge a book by its cover. BUT......you gotta to be careful. I sent this to him:

Hello, I saw your ad on ebay regarding the corvette you have for sale.

I am very interested in hearing more about the car.

How long have you owned the vehicle and when did the car receive the awards?

Is there any documentation such as the tank sticker, protecto plate, and manuals that are available and included with the sale?

Is the car in good working order? What does NOT work on this corvette?

Any rusting issues that I need to know about? How about a history of
an accident? How would you rate the paint on a 1 to 10 scale? I will end the questions for now here to see if this I what I am looking for.

Your asking price is $22,000. Is this negotiable at all or is this the price
that will sell the car?

Thank you and best regards. I look forward to hearing from you regarding your corvette with the following ad:

I believe it's this car:

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appli...?ln=387&aid=52
which sold for 115k in 2005. Note the phrase 'only Black on Red factory side exhaust L89 to exist'

Also mentioned here using the phrase 'only Black on Red factory side exhausts L89 to exist'

http://www.inarchive.com/page/2011-1...tte-43565.html

I don't believe for a second that it's a genuine auction listing with that kind of asking price.

It could very well be a mistake as you suggested.

Can you imagine if this were the real thing and a real seller, i would love to see his face when he reads my email asking if the $22,000 asking price is negotiable?

The $22,000 figure is in the ad in 2 different spots.

Not a misprint, it's a scam!

Has to be something wrong. A real Black/Red L89 with that kind of awards should bring $200K Plus

OMG! That is too funny! Sorry! I will try to work on that. You are not the FIRST to tell me that! I get too excited when I post sometimes.

Perhaps the email systems from Nigera may be running slow today?

Huh, what happened?

The bids that were there went POOF!

Looks like someone pushed the reset button on this auction.
