Default 3/8" Temp Sender for 69

I know there are lots of other posts on this but I have not come across a 3/8" NPT sender that provides an accurate output to the stock gauge in a 69.

Has anyone found a 3/8" NPT sender that matches the factory 1/2" NPT Sender output. I want to install a 3/8 sender in after market heads and retain the stock gauge.

If you have the original sender.. take it to a machine shop and have them turn it down and re-thread. There is plenty of meat on the sender and I've done this multiple times in my shop.

If you can't find one.. then send your sender to me I can do it.

Also have a look at Equus senders, they are smaller diameter and from a post in another Thread about senders may give a very accurate reading.

I got one to test but have not around to it yet.

Very cheap and comes with a few adapters.

I have the scale of required input per gauge for the dash units on my site under the tech pictures section if this helps you validate the aftermarket sender.

Thats exactly what I will be using Ernie. Great resource.

Will be comparing it to the BW203 and original.

Have done some testing before and have a WT203Z in my 71.

Craig- One thing I'm working on hard.. is a fix for the sender issues... and we about have it whipped. Still testing prototypes right now but my free time has been very limited.

Soon it won't matter what the sender reads, you'll be able to make the adjustment at the dash..

I have the 72-79 3/8 sender done now.. I made three of these today. Hopefully I'll get the 69-71 done tomorrow.

Hi Ernie

The 3/8 temp sender is great news and I am keen to see what your doing on the sender calibration side.

Have done a bit on this previously and have mine adjustable but if your bringing it to market as a kit will be interesting to see.

Will PM you some thoughts.

Hi Craig..

I'm sorry but until the fix for the gauge is completed, that is about all I can tell you.... I'm about 3 weeks from having this finished.

Here are the other 3/8 NPT sending units. And I'm sorry, unless these take off we will be doing them manually.. I've made 4 of each, and trashed 4 in the process... They will be exempt from any discount coupon codes.. but they are done!
