Well I am a google expert and I think I can help solve the "what decals" question.

This place has them listed by year. I hope this gets you started. Good luck!

They go on the sides of the hood cowl, however they were only installed on 1975 and up c-3s 1973 and 1974 only had big block ie.454 badges if so equipped. If you really want to install them anyway I am sure the 1975 aim would show exaclty where and they do add a cool little detail My 1975 was an L-82 and I liked the look of the badges there.Cheers.

Very strange things can happen on a 1974.

My 74 started out as a 195 hp L48, and technically still is. The only thing from the original engine is the block.
Eagle racing crank
Scat rods
Comp cam
Holley street dominator intake
Holley 4150 street avenger 675 carb
65cc dart heads
Bored .030 over
10.5 - 1 compression pistons
1.6 ratio full roller rocker with stud girdles
I think it might be a bit more than the original 195hp

None. There are no decals on a 74. What you are calling decals are actually emblems. All 74s had Stingray fender script emblems. Big block cars had hood emblems.

The 74 assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows all the factory locations and how the emblems were applied. Most use push nuts and sealant.

Thanks I do have the aim manual always forget to look at it
I'm assuming push nuts slide over the nipples on the emblem ?? Can you buy these somewhere ??

Why would you put badges on your car, if they don't come on that year?

Don't start drilling holes. If your emblems have studs, cut them off and install emblems with double sided tape. if you tire of them they can be pulled off later with no damage.

The L-48 emblems shown above are installed with Goop sealant/adhesive. They have not moved in several years.

Why not? It does not hurt to put a few nice accessories on your car, e.g. gas lid and chrome rear grilles.

MrJlr,

My latest adventure (a hardtop) is well documented. There are so many nay-sayers on these units it gives me nightmares. But I am determined to get it on safely for the months of April-May. I have all the parts and pieces to make it so. Then the convertible top for the summer. Should be fun in several weeks time.

Don't put the L82 emblems on if it's an L48
