Default T-Top Realignment

Hi All. Just put new weatherstrip on both glass tops. Went to install the drivers side on the car. The weatherstrip was so fat that when i clamped it down the T-Top frame separated from the glass. My question is do i have to realign and reshim the top to fit with the new molding? Year of the car is 1982.

New weatherstripping almost always requires fitting the tops. You can also expect having to possibly adjust the door glasses.

I just had mine done by a paint and body guy in the area and I was really disappointed in the fit. I ordered a full kit from Eckler's for $250.00. Its been 6 weeks and the top seals are still bulging, windows don't go up far enough now, doors have to be slammed and on and on and on. I read a lot about letting it sit in the sun and everything will be OK but I have not found that to be true so far. I know when the car was new from the factory the fit perfect so did I buy the wrong brand or what?

CRC, Corvette Rubber Company is the brand to get. Ask Eckler's what brand it was. Lou.

I just did mine.

I couldn't get my tops in with the new rubber, so I loosened up the hooks that go in the middle, shoved it in place and bolted the hooks back up. Had to do it several times because in the front there was still a gap that needed to have the adjustment bolted out.

Long time ago from auto acc of America. These were a top brand I believe. Have to look for the brand don't know it by heart.

The rubber needs to settle. So leave it bolted in place for some time.
