Here's a little story for all vette lovers out there.
Wife and I went for a lil joyride today. On the way home, I got stuck at a red light and here comes a BMW M3 pulling up next to me revving and jerking (btw, he looked middle eastern to me. Just trying to descriptive of the scenario, not trying to be racial in anyway).
By this time I want to crush him and completely forgetting about my wife next to me. I know the road I was on very well. From the light I'm stuck at to the next light is about little more than a 1/6th of a mile and the road is straighter than airport run way with little incline. This kid probably thinks my car is all sound and have no clue is to what cam sounds like.
I looked to my left at the intersection and saw no cops, looked to my right and saw no cop BUT saw my wife's lips sputter, "I'll kill you, don't even think about it!" As soon as she finishes warning me, light turns green and the BMW screeches and takes off. My instinct took over and I'm dog off the line. With squealing and screaming coming from the passenger seat, it was a lamb slaughter by the time I hit third gear. I didn't even have to drop the hammer to the fourth. BMW slowed down as soon as I passed him so I slowed down as well thinking he want another shot while moving instead this time. Nope, he stayed well behind all the way to the next light and even changed lane to stay behind my vette at the stop light.
I think he learned his lesson that his 60K whiner is not fast as he thought it was will probably respect all American muscles from now on.
Oh guys.. Wife is okay. Even though she was scared doodooless, she said she would have really killed me if I would have lost.. LOL!

Just think about how stupid he would have felt if you turned instead of chasing him. You might have even gotten a laugh out of your wife instead of "squealing and screaming".
I know it's all in fun and even though you were being carefull you never know about the guy along side of you.
what road were you on? By looking at your pictures, it looks as though you're near the Cville area. Lots of those imports running around up here. My neighbor has an audi A5s and although I can appreciate the car and its 365 hp, it doesn't have any of the raw mechanical muscle and you experience nothing when driving. Glad you put that car in its place and the only screaming you heard was from your best gal and not a badge.
I just had a thought... What if... What if... The guy in The Woodlands, TX that owned the silver Vette had traded it in on a Beemer and moved to your area. Just a thought.

Hey Pman,
It's the light at the Unionmill and Braddock. Heading south towards route 28.
I live pass Twinlakes golf cource. Where you at?
This is like the first time I revved the engine pass 5K in a long time and I couldn't let that German engineering taunt me. Most of the American muscle around here does not disrespect but it's always the imports. Older gentlemen living next block from me owns a fully restored blue 66 vette. You ever seen that one?
Maybe we can meet sometime.

Yes, that stretch of road is a nice little runway for sure. Just long enough to prove a point and then let off before the next light. In fact, that next light is where you turn off to get to where I live. So we're close! The 69 I refer to as solely mine (more accurate to say ours) resides with my father in Culpeper...my townhome garage is full of work-related tools and not to mention, the drivers around this area just scare the hell out of me with all the texting and aggressive driving. Culpeper is a great area to drive around in...roads like popes head coupled with smaller highways if you wanna cruise straight for a bit.
There is a great car show in tysons that supports the fisher house foundation that I can't wait to go to later in the summer. In the meantime, you'll have to let me know if you've been to any others in the area that are good. I know of a couple in warrenton that are nice also. I'm always looking for a good reason to get out of the house to hit up a local watering hole for a few and talk vettes.
