Default 73 transmission ID

My 73 was built 10/6/72. Got under the car and found the number on the transmission. I could not positively dechipher the letter for the build month. Here are the two options:
P3B12A (February 12 1972 build date)
P3P12A (September 12 1972 build date)

Could it be the February date, with it sitting in stock until October?

Is your VIN derivitive stamped on it? My hunch is that it is a September tranny for an October car.

VIN derivative is stamped on transmission. I agree - most likely September.
