Very cool Chuck. Having seen your father's play barn I can say I am not surprised you found the L-88 heads, he was working with some very cool projects. Glad you located them and keep looking buddy, got to be a fresh new L-88 intake sitting in there somewhere too.

We think this picture was at a road race course. I do have an old track slip that I found in the '68. I think it was 12.1 seconds, but it's been awhile since I saw the slip.

I'm at a bit of a standstill at the moment. The engine is in the shop, I'm waiting on an order from Willcox to come in and my air compressor dropped a cylinder and burnt up a gasket so I need to to order replacement parts for that.

More to come eventually...

"Step away from the Country Music, Sir"!

(Just kidding)......

I just dropped my DeWalt Drill for the 10th time... .....now the handgrip is "removable"!

I am thinking that second picture with the car in motion was taken at what now known as "Mid-Michigan Motorplex" near McBride MI. It appears the picture was taken looking north. In the 70's they grand stands and a concession stand on the northside of the track. Just my guess. I am orginally from Greenville so we used to go to "Stanton" as we called it back then. The track is actually about a mile south of McBride on Wyman rd. BTM

You never know what type of music will be playing on the radio in he garage lol. Turns out the compressor pump gave up the ghost and committed suicide. Broken crank rod and a severely scratched up cylinder.

The awesome news though, my parts hoarder uncle-in-law just messaged me that he has a spare compressor pump the exact same model as the one that just died and it's mine for the grand total of free. So, I will be back in business later this evening.

Very well could be. The family had a cottage out on a lake near Greenville back then. To me it does look like a drag strip due to the 2 dark lanes of asphalt and a light center section. A friend said it looked like the old Onondaga drag strip back in the day as well. Maybe we will have an answer some day...

Tore down the starter, cleaned the internals, sand blasted the exterior, painted, new brushes and a new solenoid. Hooked it up to my F150 battery and everything tested out good. Just waiting for an engine to install it on now.

My engine build delays have been getting me down lately so I hadn't done more than look at the 68 for the better part of a month. Tonight I finally finished up the test install of the rest of the dash. Looks pretty good to me other than the shift console not quite lining up with the lower right dash pad. Oh well.

That is looking great. Give the consol a few days to adapt....you may be able to get a better fit.

Looks great. Mine does the same thing on the right side. Feel like breaking out a big wad of duct tape and sticking it behind it to hold it

Thanks gentlemen.

Looks like I'm going on week 3 of not getting out to the garage to do any work...It has been downright frigid here in Michigan. Most of those 3 weeks it was in the single digits or even below zero. That has made the garage feel like a refrigerator.

The good news though...Today and tomorrow are going to hover around 50 degrees, nothing like a couple days of shorts and t-shirt weather in January. I picked up my rear deck lid and hardtop from my mom's place and plan on taking them to the car was to get them cleaned up before getting them temporarily installed back onto the '68 to keep dust to a minimum in the interior.

This looks great Chuck. I won't be here for a little while yet but yours is an inspiration.

About the same here in PA Chuck. I bought a heater and it helped in short bursts to get warm enough to do some work, next five days will be a blessing here with high on Friday at 57. T-Shirt weather. Won't last, never does, but I will take it. Keep on moving on the side projects brother, you are getting there.

Thanks David. The interior is the easy part. Your '72 is miles ahead of me.
