Default 81 passanger seat removal help please

I'm trying to remove the passenger seat in my 81 and I can't seem to locate the bolts under the car on the passenger side.

The drivers seat bolts were easy enough to find and remove, but crawling under the car, with a flashlight I can't seem to put my aging eyes on them....even with my good glasses.

My Aim & service manual drawings make it look like the passenger side seats underside bolts are located just like the drivers seat bolts...but I couldn't find them tonight.

Do I need to have the car on a lift to get at the passenger side seat bolts or do I need to remove somthing to access these bolts? I did quite a bit of searching in this and the technical forum also and I couldn't find anyone talking about the passenger seat in paticular.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The studs on the seat tracks go through the floor board just like the driver side. They are secured with nuts. They should be easier to find with it up in the air. Sorry not a lot of help.

Maybe I'll jack the right side up this afternoon and take a closer look.
If I still can't find them I guess I'll ask one of my friends with a lift if I can swing by sometime this weekend and lift it up for better access.

I appreciat your input thought...thanks.

drive it up on some ramps - that'll get the nose high enough up in the air to use a shoplite to see those nuts on the floorpan. 4 of them, might need some PB blaster to aid torquing them off. Job should take you 15-30 mins.

Good luck

I was finally able to get at the passenger seat bolts out today....however these bolts (unlike the drivers side) were removed from inside the cabin.

The nuts on the passenger side were attached to the floor pan on the underside of the car...and the 1/2" bolts I had to remove from inside the cabin under the seat.

The front bolts were easily accessable without moving anything around, and the the rear bolts I had to slide the passenger seat forward to gain access to...then remove.

Anyway...I thought I would share what I learned today in case anyone in the future wants to remove the passenger seat in an 81.

Thanks for your input everyone.
