I inherited a 1970 LT-1 4-speed vette with t-Tops. It hasent ran in about 20 plus years. When he parked it it had a flat tire. I know I wish he would have kept it running but he didn't. The car is numbers matching all the way down to the carb. He did add power steering. The point of this post is I need to sell it. I have a Chevelle of my own and also he had a 1970 440ci six pack Challenger with a shaker hood. I have more sentimental memory's to this car because he was the original owner. I remember ridding in the back as a kid. So what do you think it's worth? I was thinking around 8-10K.
If it were me, I would get somebody knowledgeable to check it out before you decide on a price.
For example, if it only needs a carb rebuild and tires, that would be good to know and you would price accordingly.
On the other hand, if the frame is rusted out, you have a whole different ball game.
Check ebay, and other sources to get an idea of what others are asking before you decide on an asking price.
IMHO, A LT-1 project with a decent frame might go for 8 to 10. A running LT-1 in decent shape would easily be double that. A 70 LT-1 is worth more generally speaking all else being equal than the 71 and 72 LT-1 too.
Hope this helps.

I'll try and post pictures when I can get the car uncovered. It is all there and the seats were recovered in new leather. The chrome is still really good the paint it dull but the body didn't have any checking in it. Unfortunately both outer door handles are broken. I rebuilt the carb 15 years ago and got it running. But he never drove it.

This does help thanks. The car is a Cali car and has been covered the whole time. I should rebuild the carb again and prep it so I could start it again.
I would be interested. Too bad it's not a convertible but I might make and exception for LT1. 70 is the year to have. What color? Mileage?
There are a few on ebay recently and not selling. This particular model was hyped a lot the past 5 yrs or so. People think they have the holy grail. It is a very desirable model if well documented. I've been watching a few of these.
Look at the big picture before you do anything.....will you regret selling this? can you store it for now, even a year or two until Chevelle is done?
These cars are going up in value, maybe it has slowed due to the economy but will continue to do so, plus you have the sentimental value to consider....I am sure we could all use the 8, 10 grand or whatever, but you may regret it.
If you do go to sell, having it running and driving will make a HUGE difference, so maybe do that, drive it some, see what you want to do.
Was it your dads? relatives? sorry to hear you lost someone, nice they thought of you to pass it on to.
a running, rolling, stopping LT1 will sell for a lot more than what it will in it's current condition.. unless you can find a buyer that has his eyes glaze over when you use the term 'barn find'.. spend a weekend and grand on it and you will get 5K more...
but do this only after to get the 'rust' question answered.

I would never regret selling it. I have zero attachment to it. I have sentimental value to the Challenger. Also I can't afford to restore all three cars. As it is the Challenger is all original and complete. It was my dads.
