CWerner, are not thinking of a auto to 5 spd conversion? From what I've seen your estimates seem in line with a 5spd conversion, not a 4spd. I would think you could do a 4 spd for significantly less.
Need a better wish list from OP... OE pedal assy, stock steel flywheel, factory bellhousing, used Saginaw 4 speed with a refurbished factory shifter and a "stock replacement" clutch? Mod your current driveshaft? Recycled OE interior trim bits? "U build it" crossmember mod and all welding required done in your garage?
Upgrade to hydraulically released clutch with custom pedal assemblies, lightweight flywheel, Certified bellhousing, new or rebuilt close ratio Muncie, CenterForce or similar clutch, Hurst or better shifter? NOS or new repro interior bits? Custom new aluminum driveshaft? "U pay it" write the big check pro install?
Like most projects, the budget can be as large as your bank balance, or can be as small as careful planning, shopping and patience waiting for the "right deals" can make it. Depends on your desires for the completed result, and also in part on your skillset and toolset.
I think Keisler quoted me around $6k for an Auto 5 spd swap plus $$$ install.
Just my 4spd to 5 spd swap was pushing $4k plus $2k having it installed.
Keislers kit parts seem competitively priced.
Swapping just a used Muncie? Probably could do it for $3k installed.
Cheaper if you do it yourself, but it can be a PITA without a lift.
