Default Speedometer cable plastic end broke off in speedometer

The other day my speedometer quit working and while looking into what happened, the plastic end that connects to the speedometer had broken off and with my mirror I can see the blue piece still in the brass fitting on the back side of the speedometer. I've been picking at it with a set of picks that I have to try and get it out and haven't had any luck so far.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get it out? I can spin the brass fitting and can see the needle on the speedometer move so I think all is good with the gauge.

Good deal, I figured I'd give that a shot and just picked some up from Harbor Freight. I'll give it a whirl!

I have had great success with those things using different dental pics, all kinds of tip problems on cars, bikes and snowmobiles, they work great.
