I see where you can buy rear sway bars for C-3`s but neither my 72 or 73 has one. When I bought my 72 I got a ton of extra stuff with it and included were 4 new sway bars and 4 new sets of bushings but for the life of me I don`t see where a rear sway bar can bolt up. What am I missing?

this shows mounting points.
the part that attaches to the trailing arm can be different.

The holes for the sway-bar may not be drilled on the back of the trailing arm (reproductions tend to have them)

You need all of the linkage and brackets for the connection

If you don't have them, Wilcox gives the locations in this thread
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-general/3228358-rear-trailing-arm-sway-bar.html

I believe the holes on the frame should be there on all frames.

The bar sneaks over the spare carrier, I'm pretty sure I've gotten the bar in without dropping the top part but it's easier if you do

I installed a rear bar on my wife's '79, a number of years ago. I was going to use an OE bar, but at the time, couldn't obtain any of the brackets for the trailing arms. I wound up buying the needed bar and parts from VB&P.

Obviously my 74 doesn't have a rear sway bar, I'd like to install one. Is there a kit available with all the brackets and bar?
Also, where exactly does it bolt? Is it on top if the rear end? Of some tubing? I can't tell from the drawing exactly where it goes

My 71's frame had no holes for the mounting of a sway bar. Never understood that.
Don't recall ever checking the new frame I installed last summer.

The bar bolts to the frame, but it might be confusing, because the mounts are to the rear of the rear axle.

VB&P can sell you everything you need, correctly sized bar, mounting brackets for the trailing arms, and all....

Tops are just under the #4 mount area

I thought all frames were drilled since the nuts are captive and had to be inside. Guess not?

So is the sway bar one long piece that goes across to both sides of the frame? Or two short bars, one on each side??
I did a search and see what appears to be one long bar with mounting rubbers, but the drawing near the top of this post shows a short bar on one side.

one bar, like the front.
the "link" to the trailing arms can be like the front bar's

best results when the front size (diameter) are matched to the rear.
say 1 1/8 in front, approx 7/16 in rear.
then spring rate and shocks can effect choice.

too much bar dia in the rear will cause over steer.

NOW I know why I couldn`t find the holes in the frame BUBBA wrung the bolts off and ground them down flush with the frame rail so when everything was sandblasted and painted you would never see them if you didn`y know they were there. Does anyone know what size thread the holes are so I can drill and retap. I have new urethane mounts and bars in all the stuff I got so all I need to do is drill and tap 4 holes and get the brackets

I'll take a wild-azzed guess, and say 3/8-16....
