Horse Power

I want to take the factor exhaust system off my 78 Corvette and put on True Dual Exhaust. How much will this increse my HP by just doing this simple modification.

5-10 hp maybe. Maybe a little more. Headers will unlock a bigger gain and amplify any effect from the dual exhaust.

Between headers and dual exhaust I enabled my 78 L-48 to run FASTER to 60 than the magazine times for an L-82.

It won't add very much HP, but it should sound a whole lot better.

horsepower...people think it is like popcorn in a bag in that you can reach in and grab a bunch no problem

Upgrading the exhaust on these cars is worth quite a lot. Very high HP/dollar ratio. It goes nearly cubic after that.

I think I gained as much power from my heads/cam swap as I did from the original header / dual 2.5" swap, at 3-4x the cost.

I agree, worth doing the exhaust and a good dollar per hp gain...but some people think they will gain, silly amounts of hp by doing an exhaust..

Make sure your distributor and carburetor are set up correctly. The new exhaust sytem may require a slightly different carb calibration to get the most out of your modifications..
