What he means, is when you stick a wheel THAT wide, with as much offset as it requires, on the back of a C-3, therefore increasing the load on the bearings by probably a factor of 3 or 4, how long before the bearings "take a dump"??

EXACTLY WHY I kept the same wheel center line on my '72.....using later C4 17" rims, moving the ebrake mount tab, and still clearing the sway bar.....
NOT putting any extra loading on that spindle/suspension, even thought it was all new in '95 so 18 years and fine.....
If you are happy with your current wheels you might want to contact Weldcraft about the possibility of having them widened before you send them out to be machined.
Just a thought to keep the price reasonable.
Quite honestly I'm not crazy about the wheels I chose anymore. I loved them when I got them, but over time they have worn off from me...so in kind of stumped.
