I am thinking about going out to the local 1/4 mile raceway for a test and tune night. Does anyone know what they look for during the tech inspection to qualify your car to run the track? I have heard that you have to have your battery secure, an overflow on the radiator, and good tread on the tires, but I am sure there is more. I don't want to get there and be turned away, so any additional info would be appreciated.
I did call, but the tech inspectors are only there on the test and tune nights. The person I spoke to threw out some general requirements (battery, overflow) but I am hoping that a some quarter mile guys know more.
Some tracks are tight and some are looser with the rules. It can also vary at the same track, depending on who does the inspection. If you're running 13.99 or quicker you'll need a helmet that meets current requirements. That can shut your effort down before it even starts, so make sure you take a good one with you- and have fun!
