The inside [lower inside contact area] of the lighter socket in my '75 has some corrosion and needs to be replaced to work reliably. I'm sure its removal is probably pretty simple but I don't want to muck anything up removing and replacing it. To remove the lighter receiver you -----------.
After replacing the fuse for that circuit removing and replacing the offending receptical will be a walk in the park!. Pulling a fuse would be much easier had Chevy put the fuse block in the oil pan . Big hands and a drop light don't do well under the dash .
I thought replacing the receptical would be pretty simple but I wanted to defer to a higher source, take a bow forum members, rather than add another mistake to my C-3 learning curve. Thanks!

Well that didn't go like the script said it should. I now need the entire fixture minus the actual lighter [the lighter is a survivor]. It's written somewhere that if something doesn't work easily just apply a bit more force. I applied a lot more - I won!
The unyielding culprit now resides in the recycle bin. Moving forward after my brief victory - where do I get/buy the new lighter parts?
