Hello guys,
after I tracked down one of previous owners of my '73 Corvette I had him send me the last pieces/parts that came with the car.
One is the AC unit and the other part...??.I have no idea
Also when I received the AC compressor, there was a leak in the box that looks like refrigerant oil!!! Is it a bad sign that the unit is not good?
The PO bougth the unit at a used parts store but never installed it.. ..oil is coming out of one of the attachments holes..?
here's some pictures.
Thanks I appreciate your input.
what is this??

Compressor and valve in receiver (VIR). Do you have the assembly instruction manual showing how they install. The oil leak does not necessarily indicate the compressor is bad; only that plugs were not installed before it was shipped.

Thank you Mike.
I do not have instruction manual..Im not going to install it myself anyway.
You should rebuild or replace the VIR. It's open to the atmosphere and the dessicant will be full of moisture- not the best thing to make cold air with.
