Took the guage consoule out checked the lights, cleaned the contacts, and guled the contact tabs down for the bus plug. Everynthing worked fine after I put it back in. The next day I blew the raido fuse working on the wiper motor.
replaced the fuse, that the raido wasen't using anyway. Now the center consoule guage lights that were working fine the day before don't come on. The guages work, but no lights.
Checked the fuse panel, it's ok.
Any ideas?
To those that answsered my question about hood gasket, thanks.

the fuse for the cluster lights is the really small 5 amp one in the box. it is almost impossible to see if it is blown unless it really actually blows up. try replacing it to see if that doesn't work for you. i had my lights go out and i swore that all the fuses were good. it drove me crazy. had a friend (who is a mechanic) take a look at it and it was the fuse that i couldn't see as blown. if the fuse really is good on yours, you might have a broken path on the circuit "board". if enough juice went through it you could have burned a pathway.
One last thought might suggest an inline fuse in the wiring system. You would need to reference a wiring diagram to verify. The fuse is just a short piece lighter gauge wire in series with the main wire as I recall.
