Default Loose Tach Needle

I bought a new tach needle from one of the vendors on the forum to replace a broken one. However, the new needle fits loose on the tach stem to the point where it will not stay on. The vendor said they sold many of these needle without this issue. I can see the hole on the needle are different size, with the new one being larger. Do they clue on or did I get a bad one? It's on an early 78 model

The tach needle on 1975 to 1982 corvettes are different than the speedo needle. The hub is different,( speedo has brass hub with a bigger hole ) on the 1978 to 82 you can use your old tach needle hud and remove the plastic needle from the new speedo they sent you because they don't sell original tach needles , only speedo ones. just replace the plastic needle. It not hard , look at it and , i am sure you'll figure it out. john gardner
