You are doing an awesome job, those car covers aren`t your friend especially sitting on grass they hold in moisture and cut ventilation to almost zero and the humidity and grass moisture just kill you.

Just to update: I have converted the brakes to O-ring and got new tires.
I am now working on the transmission. I know this is slow progress, but
I don't want to burn-out and the heat down here in Louisiana is really getting hot now. Will keep all informed as I proceed. Thanks for all the words of encouragement and I welcome any and all suggestions.

The old tires that were put on sometime in the 80's. The one other General was beyond even using to move the car into the garage.
Dunlop on front and General on back.

The vette so far with new tires.

What size are those new tires? I'm going to get new BFG's tomorrow, they will be 255/60/15's which are the same size I have now but different manufacturer.

The BFG's are P225/70R/15. That is the replacement for the GR70's that came on the car.

You're project is coming along nicely. The car looks great. You will soon reap the rewards for all the effort and thanks for keeping us in the loop, especially with picture updates.

We love to look at sharp photos!

Hey Donnie would you mind posting a photo of the transmission tag that's on the passenger side of the transmission. The transmission shop that rebuilt mine years ago wiped my tag clean when they dipped the case for cleaning & unfortunately I did not take photos of this tag. Been trying to find info on what the tag should look like ever since. BTW very nice work I really love the white C3s.

Here is the picture, but mine is hard to read also. Across the top it says;
Turbo Hydromatic
Large C and K with 73 K 337 between the letters. (337 should be Dec. 2 1972)
On the bottom line:
73-CK-9782
This is the 73 THM 400 with the L48 engine.
L82 is CY
454 is CS
Hope this helps you. Sorry for the bad tag.

Donnie--

Not to hijack, but here's a picture of my '73 tag... Funny how mine does not have the BIG CK...

Hey Rogman,
I think the only reason my C K shows up is that I still have some of the
paint on my tag. Some of the lettering disappears when the paint is rubbed off.
I have to look real close to even make out some of the words on mine.
(the 270 on your tag should mean that the date code is September 26 1972)

I admire a man that does the work, not write a check for it.

Thanks,
I enjoy working on my own car and it means a lot more when you can do the work yourself. Besides my time is a lot cheaper.
