Default Decisions, decisions, decisions.......

First off, this site and its members have been excellent, very helpful, and welcoming. I've seen sites, not necessarily car ones, that newbies get eaten alive. lol

Anyway, I've compiled a list of cars I'm taking a closer look at on craiglist for my first C3 purchase. Anywhere else I need to look?? I've also looked at as many dealers as I could find and ebay, but craigslist had a pretty good selection and prices looked a bit better, but who knows until I see them. I'm also keeping any eye on the sale forum here.

My problem is this.....I love all C3's.....lol. Chrome bumpers, rubber bumpers, old and new. Honestly I'm leaning toward later 70's stingray, would prefer a convertible but not sure I'll find one in my price range. However there is also something about a 1980 birth year car that would be special to me. I know I need to see lots of cars in person and drive them to get a better idea, but moving forward are there any specifics years or issues I need to be aware of or avoid. IE, a friend told me 75's are more expensive parts wise and that the 74's split bumpers can be a pain.

Anyway, my green is now glowing....I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Well, here in California, my big consideration was smog laws. '75 and older, no smog required....a VERY good thing indeed!!!

Shy of that, they're all beautiful and I like them all.

Greetings and salutations. Loving all C3's leaves pretty much opens up the entire playing field. Good luck with your search. My first Vette was an '80. When I bought my second Corvette (this time to restore) I never considered anything but another '80. I love the lines and the in my opinion the interiors of the 78's to 82's are the most comfortable. All the '80 needs is a little more ponies under the hood.

1980 for me- last year with no computer under the hood, sleeker looking front end/air dam integrated, cheaper than a chrome bumper car, awesome looks... Best of luck with your search.
