Default Turn signal dilemma!

When ever I push up or down on the turn signal NOTHING happens anymore...I can feel the click on the handle but no signal outside or in dash.
All the bulbs work and everything works inside/out when ever I pull the emergency flasher button...but not the left or right!
Help?

Turn signals have a separate flasher. Test yours. Also check the fuse.

There should be a fuze for turn signals and, I think, brake lights. Emergency flashers are controlled by another fuze. Also, behind passenger dash there should be a turn signal flasher. Those would be the first two things I'd check. Have a wonnerful day, Bill

Was trying to type when other posts were being sent.
BTW, spell-check would be handy (Fuze??????)
Bill

ok I found the Turning signal flasher and it looks like an old gm part? not a round looking one on my car ???
It has 2 prongs and a plastic clip in the middle....it looks something like this:

Is there any way to test these things or just replace and see?
All I find for sale is the round looking ones...but mine looks like a unit plug with the two prongs aligned side by side 1inch apart....where can I find another like it? help?

By the way..did I took off the right part????

Thanks guys.

Not sure (actually, I have no idea whatsoever) what that thing is. It probably is an important part and I'd put it back. Googled it and came up with a vacuum tube!!! Anyway, the flasher should be round and in a bracket behind, low, right of the passenger dash panel. The emergency flasher should be also round, and located atop the fuse (sp?) panel. Now, all the above info applies specifically to a '74 but I've heard '73's are about the same. Have a great day, Bill

Really don't believe it's necessary to remove the dash. The flasher should be right along the bottom edge. Brgds, Bill

It's under the bottom edge of the dash to the right on the passenger side. Not up on the firewall side but on the inner side toward the passenger seat. Take your hand and run it along the inside edge of the dash and you should find it. If you're going to look, you'll have to stand on your head. DON'T REMOVE THE DASH just to locate this flasher! It's right there.
Duane
by the way, your tung-sol thingy is probably a key buzzer or seat belt warning buzzer.

Duane4238, That's funny. You made tung-sol thingy sound like some kind of special dish at a Chinese restaurant. I must really be hungry.
