Ok next up behind door number one is this lovely beauty. I never did get a response from anyone on this one but found the black one to be a ground link to another several contact points. I am referring to this lighter colored wire coming out of the grommet from the passengers fire wall where the wiper washer tube goes to the motor. Where does this lovely go I wonder?

Those are the alarm hood switch wires. The switch is behind your finger. The other end of the white wire (it's supposed to be white) snakes under the large group of wires there and enters the firewall through the tach hole. Then it connects to the rear harness. The "rear" harness should be the alarm model. If it's not, it might be missing some connectors and wires.

You can just see the white wire here, next to the green wire, just at the grommet. The rest of the wire has black paint on it.

That's for the TSC temp switch. There's a pig tail that plugs into the temp sensor in the passenger side head. Like this. http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductD...GR-SR&CTitle=&

If you're not using the CEC solenoid, you don't need it.

Duff thanks again! The CEC solenoid was removed years ago on the car. I doubt I will be taking the time to restore that as it probably only robs the system of performance and power anyway.

Ok this one I feel a bit embarrassed even asking. I should know what this relay does after looking for it in the schematic but I can not locate it. But I can not find the pin out of this relay and if this is dedicated to AC control or also wiper control and how it actually might be connected to the orange high speed fan supply wire in my previous post which had clearly been severed at the relay on the driver side. I could use a schematic of this relay/solenoid.

This is the part I am referring to.

This is it on my car with one spade slot not having a wire connected and not seen.

Hate answering my own posts as it looks like I am not doing enough research myself. So I am still looking for answers and found the post below to be very helpful. the Orange high speed line is the same one so I am now working that connection.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...ring-pics.html

I am a little be-fumbled to find that my relay has 5 contacts with only four being used. It looks to be an original relay......still need a pinout for this but the posts are helping me piece this together.

Ok up next is a funky looking single wire. Its on the passenger side wheel well near the blower motor but comes from the harness with three wires. The other two (GRN and LT BLUE) go toa bulkhead connector on the evap box??? The color of the this wire is color is purple and then goes to a rubber boot and changes to back and then goes through a series element like an inductor but is light and feels like a cap then to another rubber boot (both rubber boots are visible in the picture). Care was obviously taken on this connector to make sure its water proof. The series element can be seen in the picture. This cable as far as I know has not been used for a long time on this car. Could this be more TCS stuff? Of since its purple could it be blower fan related?

That's for the fan motor. The capacitor thingy mounts to one of the fan motor screws.

Really that's a fan more supply? Are you sure? The schematic shows only power and ground and they are Orange and Black and are already connected to my motor (which is new BTW). So I am not sure that's what they are........

Yep, on AC cars, purple comes from the AC relay and connects to the fan. Non AC cars would use the orange wire. I think I read in the AIM that the orange wire can be cut. Mine is still intact, with the connector, just dangling.

Mine is quite the opposite. My high speed motor orange wire from the horn relay (which is just 12V supply i believe) was cut. The wire were talking about was not connected and the orange wire from the harness is connected to the fan with a back ground. the purple wire with series element and black (I assume corresponding ground wire) in question and pictured above go to a bulkhead connector on the side of the evap box like I mentioned previously.

So if mine is correct (not saying that it is) what is that wire on the evap bulkhead do? Is it a valve or vent control?

Hmm, that doesn't sound right. The large orange wire from the horn relay feeds into the fan relay, and the purple fan wire should come from there. Here's the page in the AIM where it's called out to cut the orange fan wire for NON AC cars. This is not the same orange wire from horn relay.

Duff I also have the ASM and found that page thank you so much. I believe your correct the orange wire from thee harness got cut off in the factory for the AC option (go figure I have a newer harness so I have the connector). The purple wire from the relay has a rubber connector that connects to the wire below in the picture. I now think its a .5uF cap ??

Unfortunately I verified that the can is ok (it passes DC) but the rubber connector boot is intermittent. I need another cable and I fear you can not buy these as they do not even have a part number in the ASM.

Anybody know where I can buy one of these cable assemblies?

Ugg its times like this you just want to cry.....is it all worth this much pain trying to do simple things??????
