My mechanic came across this during my spring tune-up. When I verified the location, he informed me that it was just above the rear spring......not on top of the tank, as he had no need to go there. Considering this piece of paper will be 35 years old in September; it's location on the car; and it being an original Canadian import, I was pretty stoked to hear of it's existence. Guess she hasn't seen snow afterall!!!!!!
Off to WallyWorld to grab a frame. I'm sure there's a lot more pristine examples than mine.......so let's see them lads.

Nice, a 79 dark green with green interior, with all the 79's that came off the assembly line you don't see many painted dark green, not a real popular color but I sure like it.
I'm dating myself, but a friend of mine bought a new 79 dark green/green L82/auto back in the day. It was a fantastic car, and ran really well. I hope you get yours sorted out.
Thanks Tom, the car's an automatic. Took your advice and scanned what's left. Up here we can get full documentation from GM Canada on all cars built or imported here, so I have all the options, date of manufacture, dealer info etc. already. We also get a used car package when you register that has a listing of all previous owners right back to the day she left the lot.....kinda cool to know where the car lived before you got it. I've never bothered to try to call the original owner. Here's the finished product.
