Default Radiator seals

I need to know how many of the radiator seal push in fasteners to order. I ordered a Dewitt direct fit aluminium rad. and the support also. The seal kit I ordered had a note that 9 of those fasteners are required. Sound about right ? 1972 coupe small block, auto with air.

Default seal fasteners

Looking at my 72 AIM, I can count 9 I think for the factory set up. It is a little hard to tell though.

There is no item count for the push fasteners on the AIM sheet.

I got my fasteners in a package and not individually. I would just buy a package or call DeWitts and ask how many they need for their setup.

Why not follow their recommendation? They say nine and they made your kit.

Default Top Seal

Sorry to hi-jack but I've got a question on how to mount the upper radiator seal to the core support (not the 'air dam' seal from the support to the hood but rather the top seal for the radiator to core support).

My 69' coupe (SBC with copper radiator) was missing this seal so I have nothing to go on and the AIM diagram is of little help. The core support is curved and bows up at the center/top so how can you attach a 'straight' seal and have it attach to the core support and seal the radiator at the same time?
The seals I bought (Paragon) are 3/4" thick but it looks like I would need something about 1" thick to make a proper seal.

Any pictures or suggestions would be most appreciated!
